I just ran McFee 2007 edition Spyware software and it found nothing.

I then ran ewido software and it found 41 infections.

Im just wondering which one is best? And should you run more than one software at a time?

It depends. Some of them pick up tracking cookies(harmless) as spyware to make their software look good.

If spybot comes back clean, you don't have anything to worry about.

You should be fine. You can run Adaware or Spybot to make sure, but I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Did you pay for norton? I had to pay 80 bucks for it, hope it's worth it.

I just got Mcafee Suite 2007 Edition which just came out for 29.99 at a big introductory sale.

Includes spyare, virus, security etc etc.....

I was wondering wether its all I need or wether I should keep my other Spyware removers and my Free AVG virus protector running?

or is it redundant.....

never found one that fixes everything, but the best one out there currently is ewido in my opinion. they offer a paid upgrade for real time protection, but the scanning function is free.

ad aware
spybot search and destroy
yahoo antispy
spyware terminator

Best to run all 4 once a month to catch everything. All free.

Tell me more about the startup controls, those are a real pain in the ass when all the programs install themselves to load up upon start up....

I can never figure out how to turn off the Start Ups 1/2 the time.

Right now you can control them this way:

start/run/msconfig/startup tab-uncheck known trouble programs (Real Player, Quicktime, etc). Reboot computer.

Spysweeper will let you set them from its program. If a program tries to set itself to startup, you will get a prompt to let it or not.

all I know is I had big problems with adware and spyware and homepage hijacks. spybot and adaware did nothing at all. So I asked around here and I was told spysweeper. That took care of the problem. Forget those other 2 pay for the good stuff.

I downlaoded the Trial, and I see that, I wonder if that part of the software will stop working after the trial is over?

that is a great feature?

Are there other easier ways to control that?
